On your computer, go to Gmail. Enter your Google Account email or phone number and password. If information is already filled in and you have to sign in to a different account, click Use another account. If you get a page that describes Gmail instead of the sign-in page, at the top right of the page, click Sign in.

To get started, head to g.co/recover and enter your Gmail address. If possible, try the following to make recovery easier: Use a computer, phone, or tablet you've previously used to sign into your account. Use the same browser that you usually do, like Chrome or Safari.

You can find an email in your inbox with search terms. To help you search faster, Gmail suggests search terms as you enter words. These search terms are based on information from your Gmail account, like messages, contacts, labels, or past searches.

To check your Gmail on a computer, log into Gmail on your web browser and click a message to read it. If you want to check your email on your phone, download and log into the Gmail app on your phone. You can also add your Gmail account to Apple Mail and Outlook so you can check your email with those clients.
